Job summary

Fisk Electric Co. in Houston, TX, is seeking a Lead Scheduler to join our office. You will drive and implement internal scheduling tools and coordinate with project teams to track health and milestones.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years as a construction scheduler with electrical subcontractor experience, and proficiency in Primavera, MS Project, Bluebeam and Excel. Expect 25–50% local travel between office and jobsite locations.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a construction scheduler.
  • Experience working for an electrical subcontractor.
  • Proficient in Primavera scheduling systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project scheduling systems.
  • Proficient in Bluebeam and Excel.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • College degree preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Driving and implementing internal scheduling tools.
  • Performing reviews and comparisons of GC issued contract monthly schedules and 3 or 6 week look-ahead schedules.
  • Updating/reporting to project team and office on project health and address any areas of concern monthly or as needed/required.
  • Working with the project team to develop appropriate scheduling requirements utilizing the contract as baseline guidance, then adding other tasks according to the risk level for project.
  • Helping develop QA/QC and Commissioning scheduling, utilizing the contract schedule as baseline.
  • Incorporating change orders into baseline schedule and perform time impact analysis reporting and backup as needed.
  • Identifying risk in weekly schedule comparison utilizing Microsoft Office (Excel and Word), along with both Primavera and Microsoft Project software.
  • Interfacing with owners and contractors on project progress versus milestones.
  • Compiling schedule and progress reports (Actual vs. Plan).
  • Defining primary, secondary, and tertiary critical path.
  • Defining key milestone finish variance against the baseline schedule.
  • 25-50% travel locally between Office/Jobsite locations

Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in a role as construction scheduler.
  • Experience working for an electrical subcontractor required
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • College degree preferred but not required.
  • Experience in Ground-up construction; Healthcare, Water and Wastewater experience.
  • Experience at a GC or other subtrade.
  • Experience with owner reps, general contractors and subcontractors involved with the project.
  • Proficient in the use of Primavera scheduling systems.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Project scheduling systems.
  • Proficient in Bluebeam and Excel.
  • Ability to work positively and composed under time pressure and deadlines
  • Self-motivated and proactive
  • Possess demonstrated skill in identification and solving of problems in an individual and team structure.
  • Excellent organization, communication, and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment with co-workers, contractors, sub- contractors, and customers.
