Job summary

Bowhead is seeking a Special Access Program Security Officer to support the Nautical contract in the Arlington, VA area. You will ensure security management and compliance for DoD cloud migration projects, coordinating accreditation activities and maintaining ongoing security posture.

You will lead security risk assessments, maintain procedures, and manage access, training, and incident response while interfacing with government and company leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field from ABET accredited institution or 10 years experience in lieu of this degree.
• Minimum of 16+ years of information security experience with cloud security.
• Minimum of 5+ years of DoD SAP security experience in enterprise environments.
• Minimum of 3+ years of hands-on experience with cloud security frameworks and implementations.
• Complete understanding and experience implementing NISPOM and ICDs.
• Knowledge of cloud security principles and FedRAMP requirements.
• Ability to develop solutions to complex security problems.
• Proven ability to work in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
• Excellent verbal and written communication for technical and executive audiences.
• Recent experience with security management policies and procedures.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and security management tools.

Responsibilities

• Implement and enforce SAP security management per DoD and customer standards/regulations/policies.
• Plan, schedule, and prioritize security activities to accomplish mission objectives.
• Conduct comprehensive security risk assessments and vulnerability analyses on facilities/processes.
• Establish and update Security Operating Procedures and Emergency Action Plans.
• Ensure Security Classification Guides and classification documentation are available to employees.
• Report and coordinate security matters with program leaders and government contacts.
• Investigate loss, compromise, or suspected compromise of classified information and prepare damage assessments.
• Maintain security training and documentation for initial, courier, situational, and annual refresher.
• Process Program Access Requests (PARs) for access eligibility.
• Maintain JADE access and security files with reporting requirements.
• Interface with ISSMs/ISSO to protect classified materials.
• Establish, update, and conduct escort procedures and entry/exit inspections.
