Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or commensurate industry experience).
• Expert-level C++ design and implementation for embedded, real-time, or safety-critical systems.
• Experience with requirements traceability, design documentation, code quality, debugging and static analysis.
• Ability to apply structured software design to complex autonomy systems.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead software architecture for operator safety systems and human-machine interaction safety.
• Translate safety goals and system requirements into architecture, interfaces, safety mechanisms, and verification strategies.
• Lead architectural trade-offs for real-time performance, fault containment, diagnostics, monitoring, redundancy, graceful degradation and maintainability.
• Mentor engineers on safety-focused software architecture, design quality, review practices, and disciplined development of safety-critical systems.
• Develop production-quality C++ design patterns, reusable safety components, middleware interfaces for embedded and edge computing environments.
