Job summary

Swansboro Animal Hospital Emergency and Trauma Center in coastal Swansboro, NC is seeking 1 daytime RVT and 1 night shift RVT to join our 24/7 emergency team. Shifts run 7AM–7PM or 7PM–7AM with overnight differential pay, and RVTs serve as shift leads coordinating with DVMs and support staff.

Qualifications

• Graduate from AVMA Accredited Veterinary Technology Program with NC license.
• 1+ years professional experience required.
• Punctual, reliable and weekend availability.
• Excellent client communication and medical record management.
• Knowledge of veterinary procedures, preventative care and hospital operations.
• Expertise in safe and low-stress animal restraint techniques.
• Proficiency in sample collection: blood, urine, fecal, skin.
• Experience in radiographic positioning and image capture.
• Experience in anesthesia administration and surgical monitoring.
• Commitment to ethics and continuous learning.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to hazards.

Responsibilities

• Animal restraint and triage of incoming patients.
• Collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, nursing care of medical/hospitalized cases.
• Administration of medications and communication of treatment plans with clients.
• Surgical preparation and assistance, anesthesia management.
