Job summary

Central Rock Gym is seeking a Head Route Setter to lead the local setting team, overseeing all route setting operations and maintenance to ensure safety, consistency, and high quality across all routes and boulders. The role includes mentoring Assistant and Apprentice Setters and collaborating with management to deliver an exceptional climbing experience for the gym community.

Qualifications

• 2+ years climbing and route setting experience required.
• PRS 2, WAH 2 required; USAC 1 preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work at heights.

Responsibilities

• Lead, schedule, and supervise the local route setting team.
• Ensure consistency, quantity, and quality of routes and boulder problems.
• Forerun and set routes up to 5.13a and problems up to V7.
• Coordinate with management on staffing and competitions.
• Maintain hold inventory and oversee cleaning and wall preparation.
• Conduct safety checks and auto-belay maintenance.
