Job summary

Darwin Recruitment is seeking a hands-on Lead Robotics Engineer for our client in the USA, focusing on humanoid robotics, mechatronics, and complex articulated systems. You will lead cross-disciplinary development across mechanical, electrical and software domains, guide prototyping, validation and field deployment, and mentor engineers while interacting with clients to ensure delivery on time and to spec.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in humanoid robotics, mechatronics or articulated robotic systems.
• Experience leading engineering projects with hands-on technical delivery.
• Understanding of actuation, sensing, dynamics and feedback control.
• Proficiency in C++ and/or Python with ROS/ROS 2.
• Experience hardware-software integration and diagnosing system-level issues.
• Familiarity with simulation tools and transferring control to hardware.
• Willingness to travel to support project delivery.

They’re looking for a hands‑on Lead Robotics Engineer with a strong background in humanoid robotics and mechatronics to guide development across mechanical, electrical and software systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and integration of robotic systems, with a focus on humanoids and complex electromechanical platforms.

• Work across actuators, sensors, embedded systems and control software to deliver reliable robot behaviour.
