Sigma Design is seeking a Lead Robot Operator to oversee daily shift operations supporting robotic data collection and production at our Menlo Park facility. This contract-to-hire role requires hands-on leadership, mentorship of operators, scheduling, and ensuring safety, data quality, and KPI targets are met.

The position is in-office with regular hours, and offers full benefits during the contract term. The candidate will coordinate with cross-functional teams and drive continuous improvements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM or related field or equivalent hands-on experience.
• 3–5 years in technology operations or manufacturing or fast-paced production environment.
• 2+ years managing or scheduling hourly shift employees.
• Experience coordinating workflows and prioritizing production priorities.
• Comfortable using operational dashboards, tracking KPIs, and proprietary software.
• ITAR/U.S. person status and ability to pass a background check.

Responsabilités

• Provide hands-on leadership of daily shift operations, ensuring workstations, equipment, props, and staffing are ready for production.
• Assign and rebalance tasks across operators based on production priorities and constraints.
• Supervise, train, and coach operators to ensure consistent performance and adherence to procedures and quality standards.
• Monitor shift throughput, productivity, and data quality, identifying performance gaps and implementing corrective actions.
• Identify, document, and escalate data quality issues, blockers, and bottlenecks.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for shift operations and coordinate with upstream/downstream teams.
• Maintain shift documentation and clear handoff notes for continuity between shifts.
• Support workflow improvements by providing structured feedback to technical teams.
• Monitor KPIs and use data to guide workflow adjustments and coaching.
• Enforce PPE and safety practices and follow IT policies to protect data.
