Job summary

OSF HealthCare in Peoria is seeking the Primary Charge Nurse-Inpatient/ED to supervise nursing staff across assigned shifts, ensuring safe, high-quality patient care and a positive patient/family experience.

You will determine daily work assignments, serve as a resource for unit personnel, and uphold nursing standards in 24/7 hospital operations. Requirements include RN license, BLS/ACLS/PALS, and an associates or bachelor’s degree in nursing, with 2 years in a related unit preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: Associates in Nursing required; Bachelor's in Nursing preferred.
• Licenses/Certifications: RN-Registered Nurse, BLS, ACLS, PALS (or unit-specific certification).
• Other skills/knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, detail oriented.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and direct nursing personnel across assigned shifts, ensuring safe, high-quality patient care.
• Determine work priorities and daily assignments; serve as resource for unit staff to resolve operational and patient-care issues.
