Job summary

Inova Fairfax Hospital, part of Inova Health System, is seeking an RN Unit Supervisor for the Medical Psychiatry Unit in Falls Church, VA. This day-shift, 3 x 12-hour schedule (7:00 am–7:30 pm) is a full-time opportunity on-site.

Key responsibilities include leading the front-line team, driving quality and patient experience, and mentoring staff. Minimum qualifications include Virginia RN licensure, BLS, 1 year RN experience, and a BSN or ADN with timeline.

Qualifications

• Basic Life Support certification (BLS) required.
• Charge Nurse workshop completed within 3 months of hire.
• Licensed Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (or Associate's Degree RN within 1 year of completing BSN).

Responsibilities

• Lead the Medical Psychiatry unit as a front-line leader to deliver highly reliable quality and patient care.
• Support unit-based shared governance and decentralized decision-making processes.
• Mentor and coach staff, promoting 'Service Always' and patient experience.
• Ensure optimal nurse-to-patient ratios and personalized care on the unit.
