Job summary

Reporting to the Nurse Manager, the Charge Nurse will model nursing processes and uphold quality and safety standards, with potential additional duties within the role.

BSN preferred; RN licensure required; 1 year staff nurse experience recommended; ACLS/PALS/NRP may be required depending on area.

Qualifications

• RN licensure is required; BLS certification is required.
• BSN is preferred; a minimum of 1 year staff nurse experience is required.
• ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC may be required depending upon area assigned.
• Strong communication and leadership skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate, coordinate, and evaluate unit activities for quality patient care during the assigned shift.
• Serve as a mentor to staff and model the nursing process, quality standards, and departmental goals.
• May have additional duties within the scope of the role as assigned by leadership.
