Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a cashier/stocker lead to step in when management is absent. You will assist in plan-o-grams, stock and rotate merchandise, and provide exceptional customer service to maximize profitability and satisfaction.

Responsibilities include operating the register, handling payments, maintaining store cleanliness, and supporting safety and asset protection measures in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform mathematical calculations including percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit control.
• Experience using IBM cash register functions is preferred.
• Awareness of safety policies and loss prevention practices.
• Effective interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• High school diploma or equivalent; six months supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and stock merchandise while maintaining displays.
• Operate cash register, collect payment, and make change.
• Greet customers and provide assistance locating items.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in the store.
• Open/close the store under direction of management.
• Assist in plan-o-gram implementation and merchandise rotation.
