Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Cashier/Stocker who can also lead in the manager’s absence. You will stock, price, and display merchandise, assist customers, and manage cashier operations to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

The role emphasizes teamwork, cash handling, and maintaining a clean, organized store environment. In this position you will interact with customers, apply planogram guidance, and support store operations including opening/closing tasks and loss prevention.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform mathematical calculations including percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability.
• Ability to operate IBM cash register functions.
• Knowledge of cash, safety, and facility policies and practices.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and stock shelves according to store procedures.
• Restock and rotate merchandise and build displays.
• Assist customers and locate merchandise.
• Operate cash register and handle transactions; provide change.
• Maintain store cleanliness and safety for customers and coworkers.
• Lead in absence of store manager and sign for refunds when required.
• Open/close the store under direction of the Area Manager.
