Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Lead Respiratory Therapist at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, IL. This full-time night-shift position supports department leadership, coordinates daily activities, and maintains care standards and budget compliance.

Requirements include graduation from a CoARC-accredited program, IL licensure, CPR, and RRT/NALS/PALS credentials; NICU experience is preferred. Benefits include competitive pay, health coverage, tuition reimbursement, and PTO.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily shift activities and staff support.
• Plan and organize daily shift work for therapists and technicians; ensure standards and budget compliance.
• Adjust shift assignments based on workload and events.
• Provide leadership, assist with assessments, and initiate orders per protocol.
• Assist staff by resolving procedure/equipment issues.
• Address patient/physician/nurse concerns and report incidents.

Hourly Pay Range:

$35.38 - $54.84 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

Position : Lead Respiratory Therapist

Location : Northwest Community Hospital - Arlington Heights, IL

Full Time | 40 hours/week

Hours : Monday - Friday, 7pm - 7:30am, with every other weekend and holidays

What you will do:

• Coordinate the daily shift activities and provision of employee assistance in order to perform job functions.
• Responsible for planning and organizing the daily shift activities of the Respiratory Therapy therapists and technicians. Ensures that department standards in patient care, departmental performance improvements and budgetary compliance are adhered to by staff.
• Adjusts daily shift work assignments due to fluctuations in workloads, staffing and/or unexpected events.
• Provides leadership, assists with assessments, and initiates orders according to the standards set by the patient assessment and protocol treatment program.
• Provides assistance to staff by resolving problems with procedures and/or equipment.
• Assists in resolving patient, physician and/or nursing complaints and reports all such incidents to the Department Director or designee.

What you will need:

• Education : Graduation from a nationally accredited Respiratory Therapy program, as determined by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC), required .
• Certification : Current CPR Certification issued by American Heart Association required. RRT, NALS, PALS and CPR certification, required .
• License : Current State of Illinois DPR Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure, required .
• Experience : Level 3 NICU experience, required .
