Job summary

Universal Health Services is seeking a Lead Respiratory Therapist for Sierra Medical Center in Reno, NV. The Lead RT will be trained in all technical aspects of respiratory care and will supervise daily clinical operations, delivering modalities of care and emergent support, aligned with the caseload and schedule.

The role requires NICU experience, state licensure, and relevant certifications; the Lead will coordinate clinical and technical services while providing direct patient care as needed.

Qualifications

  • Current State Respiratory Therapist Licensure.
  • Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Respiratory Therapy.
  • 5+ years verifiable experience in NICU or greater.
  • Preferred experience in neonatal transport.
  • PALS, NRP, Blood Gas Technologist certifications within 90 days.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises, performs and/or acts as the resource for all diagnostic procedures and respiratory therapy procedures.
  • Acts as a resource and adviser for other units where respiratory therapists are employed.
  • Communicates to the department manager any suggestions or problems with departmental operations.
  • Monitors staff performance and ensures proper recording of services and charges.

Job summary

Under the supervision of the Respiratory Therapy Manager, The Lead Respiratory Therapist will be trained in all technical aspects of respiratory care and will exhibit those skills and deliver modalities of respiratory therapy, emergent and intensive respiratory care, and diagnostic procedures. The Lead RT will assist with daily clinical operation, coordinates and supervises clinical and technical services provided and provides direct patient care consistent with the caseload and schedule demands.

Job Duties/Responsibilities
  • Supervises, performs and/or act as the resource person for all diagnostic procedures and Respiratory Therapy procedures as outlined in respiratory therapist job description
  • Acts as a resource person and adviser for all other units where Respiratory Therapists are employed or where respiratory therapy procedures are performed by other competent, cross-trained caregivers.
  • Communicates to the department manager any suggestions, information and/or problems associated with the administrative, clinical and/or technical management of departmental operations
  • Monitors staff performance. Lends assistance as needed and ensure proper recording of services performed and generate charges appropriately

Qualifications
  • Current State Respiratory Therapist Licensure.
  • Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Respiratory Therapy.
  • Required experience in a level 3 NICU or greater >2 years
  • Preferred experience in neonatal transport
  • 5 years of verifiable experience
  • BLS and ACLS certification.
  • PALS, NRP, Blood Gas Technologist certified within 90 days.
  • NICU experaince, 2 years or more preferred
