Job summary
Service Professor is seeking an experienced Generator Installation Lead to join our Electrical team. This role leads residential standby generator installations from start to finish, coordinating all electrical components, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring work meets code and quality standards.
Ideal candidates have hands-on experience with residential standby generator systems, transfer switches, and electrical panels, plus the ability to mentor apprentices and communicate professionally
Qualifications
- Valid Journeyman Electrical License in Michigan preferred.
- Experience installing residential standby generator systems.
- Strong electrical installation experience in a residential service environment.
- Ability to independently lead a complete generator installation.
- Experience installing automatic transfer switches and related equipment.
- Knowledge of NEC and local codes.
Responsibilities
- Lead residential standby generator installations from start to finish.
- Install and connect standby generators, transfer switches, panels, disconnects, conduit and wiring.
- Perform electrical modifications/upgrades for generator installations.
- Coordinate generator placement and installation requirements.
- Complete startup, testing, commissioning and verification of systems.
- Troubleshoot generator, transfer switch and electrical issues during installation.
- Read and interpret diagrams, specs and installation manuals.
- Ensure installations meet NEC/local codes and company standards.
- Work with inspectors and other trades as needed.
- Mentor apprentices or installation helpers on site.
- Complete job documentation accurately and on time.
