Amazon's SAF Lab seeks a Research Science Manager to lead a world-class team of applied scientists, engineers, post-docs and interns focused on safe autonomy for dynamic robotic systems. You will set the technical vision, shape the research strategy, and ensure innovations translate into scalable production systems at Amazon.

Qualifications

• PhD in Engineering, Technology, Science, Operations Research, Robotics, Mathematics, or related fields, or Master's degree.
• PhD or Master's degree required; leadership of researchers and engineers preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of scientists and engineers developing safe autonomy for robotic systems.
• Design multi-year research roadmaps and translate research into production-grade systems.
• Lead researchers to achieve R&D goals and present results across formats.
• Drive safe autonomy integration with perception, planning, and learning while guaranteeing safe high-performance behavior.
• Collaborate with product teams to set science roadmaps and publish findings at top conferences.
• Build collaborations with academia and industry to stay at the forefront of safe autonomy.
