Salary Range: $88,583 - $104,215

FLSA Status: Exempt

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Summary

Contribute to Baylor College of Medicine strategic initiatives in Alzheimer's and related disorders as Lead, Research Administration for the Baylor Center for Alzheimer's and Neurodegenerative Diseases (CAND), leading implementation for pre- and post-award grant activities, center operations, and special programs and supporting the CAND director, Dr. Joshua Shulman. As part of a small, dynamic team, the Lead Research Administration will partner with the director to support leadership of a growing, successful basic and clinical research team and program, and enable effective collaboration with other Baylor centers and departments. The position will be physically based at the Duncan Neurological Research Institute.

This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.

Employees with CRA certification are eligible for certification pay.

Job Duties

Sponsored Research Administration & Grants Management (Pre-Award/Post-Award) (45%)

• Review/approve grant applications and certify data in the electronic Biomedical Research and Assurance Information Network (BRAIN)
• Lead process improvement for pre/post award management
• Advise faculty on funding opportunities, eligibility, and complex submissions
• Prepare internal/external grant and subcontract submissions Ensure compliance with sponsor and institutional guidelines
• Serve as grants liaison for BCM, other institutions, and funding agencies

Financial & Operational Research Support (40%)

• Provide CAND operational support
• Provide grant program and financial oversight related to sponsored research
• Prepare monthly expense reports for active grants and affiliate funds
• Review & process contracts Concur expense management CAND Faculty and staff recruitment and on-boarding new team members

Other Job-Related Duties / Special Projects (15%)

• Manage calendar, meetings, appointments for CAND director
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree. Certified Research Administrator certification through the Research Administrators Certification Council (RACC) may substitute for the degree requirement.
• Six years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with pre and post award grant management
• Experience with NIH grants
• Experience with basic science and clinical research grant management
