Job summary

Swaybox Studios in New Orleans is seeking a Lead Render Wrangler to design, operate, and optimize our render farm for feature production. You’ll partner with Pipeline, IT, and Supervisors to ensure timely, reliable renders across on-prem and cloud resources.

The ideal candidate brings senior experience in VFX render wrangling, strong problem-solving, and clear communication as the studio scales its infrastructure and workflows.

Qualifications

• Experience leading render wrangling in high-volume CG production.
• Mentor or oversee other render wranglers.
• Strong understanding of render pipelines, assets, and licenses.
• Familiarity with Deadline/OpenCue/Qube!/Tractor and render-farm tooling.

Responsibilities

• Set up, test, and roll out render farm infrastructure with Pipeline/IT.
• Operate and monitor render farm; optimize job throughput against priorities.
• Troubleshoot render failures and diagnose root causes across pipelines.
• Collaborate with artists, leads, and Production to prioritize renders.
• Develop workflows, policies, and documentation for render operations.
• Support hybrid/cloud rendering and evaluate new hardware/software.
