Job summary

Seminole Electric Cooperative, Inc. is seeking a Senior Relay Technician to supervise calibration, installation, and maintenance of protective relays and related equipment at Palatka facilities.

The role ensures reliable, safe operation aligned with NERC standards and company procedures. The position involves troubleshooting, testing, and commissioning of substation protection, SCADA, and control circuits, along with on-the-job training and leadership of maintenance teams.

Qualifications

• Eight years of experience calibrating, installing, and testing electro-mechanical and relay systems.
• Four years of experience with a BS degree in Electrical Engineering/related field and calibration/testing background.
• Two years of related experience may be substituted for each year of education.

Responsibilities

• Interprets NERC Reliability Standards to ensure adherence to specifications and maintenance activities.
• Supports budgeting, gate reviews, and bidding processes for substation and plant protection, SCADA, and controls equipment.
• Leads and trains personnel, schedules SCADA and protective relaying training, and develops testing procedures.
• Oversees testing and commissioning of substation and plant protection equipment and SCADA/controls circuits.
• Maintains proper records of calibration and maintenance using PMIS or similar tools.
• Ensures safety procedures and compliance with regulatory standards.
