Assumes responsibility and accountability for greetings, collecting and processing all incoming patients to gather the necessary demographic information required in accordance with all regulations and hospital policies to provide care for the patients, procure reimbursement verification from third parties, and maintain records appropriately. Has a willingness to be cross‑trained and will float to other areas or departments if the need arises. Assist supervisor as needed and insures that all registrars are properly trained. Accepts responsibility for "on-call" duties as needed. Responsible for QA’s of charts. Recognizes the signs and symptoms of stroke and calling a stroke alert overhead. Verbalizes stroke alert process. Assigns temporary identification of patient (ED only), completes full registration upon patient arrival to the ED. Maintains currency in stroke knowledge by completing the annual 1 hour online training.
