Job summary

American Oncology Network (AON) is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse Manager to plan, direct, and evaluate nursing care across the clinic. You will coordinate the unit, assign work to nurses and pharmacy technicians, and ensure compliance with all job breakdown instructions and regulations.

Collaborate with the CNM and Regional Director of Nursing to plan orientation, assess staff skills, and ensure access to resources.

Qualifications

  • Unencumbered RN license in the state of employment or multi‑state licensure.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
  • Registered Nurse license.
  • OCN certification required within two years of employment.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Valid state driver’s license for travel to satellite offices and meetings.
  • Minimum of two years experience with hematology/oncology patients in a clinic or hospital.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate nursing and pharmacy technician schedules and coverage.
  • Plan orientation and assess skills of new nurses and technicians.
  • Ensure resources and training needed to perform the job.
  • Complete incident and adverse event reports.
  • Support clinical trials and maintain patient care in collaboration with Research Coordinators.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient and employee information.
  • Provide performance feedback and coaching to staff.
  • Interact with multiple departments to ensure smooth patient care and office flow.

Pay Range: $28.06 – $52.12.

Job Summary

Collaborate with the Clinical Nurse Manager (CNM) and/or Regional Director of Nursing to plan, direct, and evaluate the overall nursing care and functions of the clinic. Coordinate activities of the unit, assign work to nurses and pharmacy technicians, and ensure compliance with all job breakdown instructions and regulations.

Core Responsibilities
  • Work with all office departments to ensure continuity of patient care and smooth office flow.
  • Prepare schedules for clinic nurses and pharmacy technicians and coordinate coverage for planned or unplanned absences.
  • Collaborate with the CNM to plan orientation and assess the skills of new nurses and pharmacy technicians; determine training needs.
  • Ensure employees have resources necessary to perform their job.
  • Complete incident reports and adverse event reports.
  • Coordinate patient education before new medication initiation and oversee packet assembly.
  • Serve as a resource for staff regarding policies and procedures, and collaborate on clinical policy and regulatory changes.
  • Communicate with Research Coordinators to support clinical trials and maintain patient care.
  • Work with purchasing to maintain PAR levels, order supplies, and minimize waste.
  • Comply with federal and state laws regarding patient care, rights, billing, HR, collections, and all AON policies.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient and employee information.
  • Be flexible to work at any AON location as needed and provide overtime with sufficient notice.
  • Attend and participate in scheduled CNM and RDN meetings.
  • Function and staff as a Registered Nurse when necessary—perform port flushes, injections, infusions, and triage support.
  • Ensure completion of the daily variance report and resolve unsigned charges.
  • Create and maintain a positive, high‑quality work environment; motivate and direct staff to perform at their highest level.
  • Provide daily communication to employees for efficient and timely work.
  • Evaluate processes and procedures, and suggest methods to improve operations, efficiency, and service.
  • Establish procedures and processes that support company and departmental standards.
  • Provide performance feedback, coaching, and counseling to nurses and pharmacy technicians.
  • Maintain cooperative relationships with all company employees to promote morale, productivity, and effectiveness.
  • Interview job applicants and provide feedback.
Qualifications and Requirements

Work Schedule

Standard core workdays: Monday to Friday, 8:00AM – 5:00PM.
