Job summary

ProSmile is seeking a Lead Registered Dental Assistant in an operations-focused role, supporting the doctor with procedures, managing the chairside team, and ensuring smooth patient flow. The Lead will collaborate with the Office Manager and Dental Director to maintain high standards of care and office efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Applicable licensing required for the state in which you will work: NJ/MD/PA DRT licenses or relevant radiologic certs.
  • Certified Dental Assistant certificate required.
  • Registered Dental Assistant License required.
  • CPR/BLS certification required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
  • One or more years DA experience.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee patient flow and scheduling of Chairside Dental Assistants with Office Manager.
  • Monitor clinical staff responsibilities; collaborate with Office Manager, Dental Director, and Regional Director.
  • Maintain inventory and supplies for clinical and lab materials; obtain approvals as needed.
  • Lubricate and maintain handpieces; ensure sterilization equipment functions properly.
  • Delegate to Assistant Clinical Coordinator and chairside staff; provide evaluations and follow-ups.
  • Report issues regarding supplies, instruments, or equipment to Office Manager, Dental Director, and Regional Director.
  • Match lab receipts/invoices with lab cases; forward to Comptroller’s office; ensure lab slips are signed.
  • Review and update Emergency First Aid Kit; log disinfectant solution changes.
  • Check nitrous/oxygen tanks and operatories; ensure equipment is in working order.
  • Answer patient inquiries on safety, sterilization, and instruments; assist with related questions.
  • Turn off dental and sterilization equipment at day end; submit weekly repair/equipment lists to Corporate.
  • Place timely orders for supplies; assist Office Manager as needed.
  • Complexity: anticipate patient and Provider needs.

Job Title: Lead Registered Dental Assistant

Position Summary

As the Lead Registered Dental Assistant you will assist the doctor with all dental procedures including but not limited to, taking directions from the doctor, anticipating the doctor's needs. Other duties are as outlined below.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensure the efficient operation of the office by overseeing patient flow and managing the scheduling of Chairside Dental Assistants in collaboration with the Office Manager.
  • Understand and monitor the responsibilities of clinical staff, recognizing performance and implementing procedures in conjunction with the Office Manager, Dental Director, and Regional Director.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and supplies for clinical and laboratory materials, ensuring proper procedures are followed and obtaining necessary approvals.
  • Lubricate and maintain handpieces and ensure all sterilization equipment functions properly.
  • Delegate responsibilities to the Assistant Clinical Coordinator (if assigned) and chairside Dental Assistants, providing evaluations and following up on assignments.
  • Report any issues regarding supplies, instruments, or equipment to the Office Manager, Dental Director, and Regional Director.
  • Match lab receipts and invoices with lab cases, ensuring proper logging and forwarding to the Comptroller’s office, and confirm that lab slips are signed.
  • Review and update the Emergency First Aid Kit every three months and maintain logs for disinfectant solution changes.
  • Check the status of nitrous and oxygen tanks, dental equipment, and operatories, ensuring everything is in working order.
  • Address patient inquiries regarding safety, sterilization, and instruments, and be prepared to assist with related questions.
  • Ensure all dental and sterilization equipment is turned off at the end of the day and submit weekly repair and equipment lists to Corporate.
  • Place timely orders for supplies and assist the Office Manager with additional tasks as needed.
  • Complexity:The position involves having the expertise to anticipate the patient's and the Provider's needs
