Job summary

Acorn Health seeks a Lead Registered Behavior Technician to mentor fellow technicians, design training for new hires, and manage a client caseload while delivering direct ABA therapy as directed by the BCBA. This role emphasizes coaching, research support, and collaboration with the BCBA team.

The Lead RBT will maintain certifications, coordinate with supervisors, and ensure accurate data collection and compliance with ethics and HIPAA guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred.
  • Certification as Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) in good standing with BACB.
  • Enrolled in coursework to become a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) or Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct meetings with mentees during their first 6 months to discuss RBT, billing, notes, data collection, professionalism and ABA knowledge.
  • Hold bi-weekly meetings with BCBA Supervisors to discuss mentee needs.
  • Conduct research to support mentee questions and needs.
  • Provide training and support to mentees to meet company standards.
  • Assist mentees with paperwork and applying for RBT certification.
  • Provide services to clients in center, home, school, or other settings as indicated.
  • Complete clinical data collection and daily paperwork accurately and timely.
  • Prepare instructional and clinical materials for clients.

Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Lead Registered Behavior Technician engages in a wide range of activities, focused on providing resources, coaching, and mentorship to fellow behavior technicians. Additionally, Lead RBTs have the opportunity to participate in and collaborate on the design and implementation of new hire behavior technician trainings. This role will also maintain a client caseload and provide direct therapy services as directed by the Board Certified Behavior Analyst.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties/Responsibilities
  • Conduct meetings with behavior technicians (mentees) during their initial 6 months of employment to discuss topics such as RBT certification, billing, note taking, data collection, professionalism, interpersonal skills, and ABA knowledge.
  • Hold bi-weekly meetings with BCBA Supervisors to discuss the areas of needs of mentees.
  • Conduct research to support and help problem-solve mentee questions and areas of need.
  • Provide training and support to mentees to allow them to meet Company performance standards.
  • Assist behavior technicians in submitting paperwork and applying for the Registered Behavior Technician (RBT).
  • Provide services to clients in center, home, school, or other location(s) as clinically indicated.
  • Complete clinical data collection and daily paperwork in a detailed, accurate, and timely manner.
  • Prepare and assist in the preparation of instructional and clinical materials used with clients.
  • Participate in ongoing communication with client’s team.
  • Implement Behavior Intervention Plans and Individual Treatment Plans correctly and as directed by supervising BCBA.
  • Respond and manage crisis situations as they relate to clients with potential for physical aggression.
  • Refer clients and parents to appropriate staff members regarding therapy or non-therapy related questions.
  • Attend client meetings as needed while being respectful and sensitive to family dynamics.
  • Maintain certifications and trainings required for the position. (e.g., RBT certification, as crisis training, CPR and First Aid, etc.).
  • Comply with the Acorn Health Code of Ethics, Corporate Compliance Program, HIPAA regulations, policies and procedures, and all other regulations, laws, and other guidance relevant to the position.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred.

Experience/Knowledge
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience practicingin the field of ABA.
  • Experience training, coaching, or mentoring colleaguesa preferred.
  • Proficiency in Central Reach,Microsoft Officeincluding Teams and Paylocity.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
  • Must meet the physical requirements of the position, to include lifting of clients, packages, or equipment, accessing non-barrier free premises, and utilizing physical management techniques when required.
