Job summary

City of Raleigh North Carolina invites applications for a Lead Recreation Instructor to plan, coordinate, and lead a variety of recreational and wellness activities for adults with disabilities in an adult day program. The role focuses on daytime engagement, healthy living, and community integration, with hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30am to 3:30pm and additional planning hours monthly.

Applicants must pass a background check and substance test, hold a valid NC Class C driver’s

Qualifications

Must pass a comprehensive background check and controlled substance test.
Must possess a valid North Carolina Class C Driver’s License and be able to obtain a City of Raleigh driving permit.
Ability to move around, lift up to 30 lbs, and meet physical requirements of program activities.

Responsibilities

Plan and coordinate recreational, wellness, and social activities for adults with disabilities.
Lead program activities and assist participants as needed.
Prepare, organize, sanitize, and inventory materials.
Modify activities to accommodate participants and ensure safety.
Drive participants in a city minibus to community locations.
Communicate with supervisor, coworkers, parents/guardians, and participants.
Attend required trainings and staff meetings.
