Position Summary
Working lead, coordinates the scheduling and efforts of the Radiology Techs. Performs a variety of radiological procedures. Responsible for on‑call procedures when indicated. In absence of a supervisor or director, the position oversees the Radiology Department to ensure efficient and effective operation.
Responsibilities
- Performs general radiology procedures for patients of all age groups, including operating procedures, startup, equipment calibration, troubleshooting, QC, preventive maintenance, and problem solving.
- Assists in evaluation of new procedures, reagents, and equipment and ensures correct exams are performed with the right patient at the right time.
- Explains the procedure and assesses the patient before testing, and assists radiologists with fluoroscopic examinations according to departmental policies and procedures.
- Follows protocol for filing and copying of films.
- Performs billing and charging with hospital computer systems.
- Identifies, proposes solutions, and assists in implementing ideas to improve patient care and departmental or hospital operations.
- Maintains inter‑ and intra‑departmental communication via phone, fax, computer, etc., and communications with radiologists.
- Prioritizes workload, completes work in a timely manner, and maintains a clean and orderly work environment.
- Shares responsibility for organizing supplies, tracking, stocking, and storing equipment.
- Other related job tasks or responsibilities as assigned.
Special Skills
- Excellent verbal communication skills necessary to understand oral and written instructions stated in radiological and medical terms and to exchange information with patients and staff.
- Problem‑solving skills.
Minimum Requirements
- Education: Completion of a JRCERT approved formal program in Radiologic Technology.
- Experience: One to two years of radiology experience with demonstrated leadership skills.
- Licensure/Certifications: Currently certified and registered in Radiography R.T. (R)(CRT). CPR.
Preferred Requirements
- Experience: Three years of radiology experience with demonstrated leadership skills.
