The Medical University of South Carolina seeks a Lead Radiologic Technologist for its Garners Ferry Free-Standing ED. This part-time role performs and oversees diagnostic imaging, ensuring high-quality, safe exams for diverse patient populations.

The lead technologist will supervise technologists, coordinate workflow, maintain equipment, and uphold radiation safety standards while collaborating with emergency physicians, nurses, and students in a dynamic academic environment.

Formación

• ARRT certification in Radiography required.
• Active radiologic technologist license in SC.
• BLS certification is required; ACLS preferred.
• Experience in emergency/trauma imaging is expected.
• Prior lead or charge technologist experience preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Perform high-quality diagnostic radiographic exams in a fast-paced ED setting.
• Lead and mentor radiologic technologists and support staff.
• Coordinate daily imaging workflow and room assignments.
• Ensure adherence to radiation safety and infection control protocols.
• Maintain and troubleshoot imaging equipment, reporting issues promptly.
• Verify orders, obtain patient history, and provide clear patient instructions.
• Review images for quality before interpretation by radiologists or physicians.
• Support training and education of students and new staff.
• Accurately document procedures in EMR, PACS, and related systems.
• Participate in quality improvement and departmental initiatives.
