Job summary

Boston Scientific is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to lead complex EP product development for the OPAL Mapping System. You will guide requirements, architecture, and collaboration with marketing and stakeholders to deliver integrated hardware/software solutions.

The role requires a senior engineer with extensive experience in medical devices, systems engineering, and regulatory practices, able to mentor an interdisciplinary team across SW, electrical, and mechanical domains.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering and/or Science with 10+ years of experience in developing highly complex systems.
• 7+ years of experience as a Systems Engineer in the medical/diagnostics space, focusing on electromechanical systems.
• Knowledge of systems engineering principles, requirements management, and medical device regulations.
• Ability to lead teams through a structured approach to solving complex technical problems.
• Experience with requirement management, collaboration, and issue tracking tools.
• Experience in product concept development, verification and validation, and customer needs/design requirements.
• Knowledge of Agile concepts including scrums.
• Leadership with ability to balance risk, benefits, and performance.

Responsibilities

• Complete system engineering activities from early phase development to market release.
• Design systems architecture aligned with business and customer needs.
• Execute multiple systems engineering activities throughout the product development life cycle.
• Apply critical thinking to solve complex system interaction problems.
• Provide expertise in multiple roles across the product development life cycle.
• Advise project management on key product risk/benefit trade-offs.
• Influence cross-functional peers to support timely decisions.
• Serve as the prime technical contact for assigned features and interfaces.
• Contribute to regulatory submissions and maintain interface traceability.
• Manage changes to interfaces and ensure lifecycle configuration compatibility.
