Job summary

Putnam Plastics Corporation is seeking a Lead Quality Engineer in Dayville, CT. You will oversee a quality engineering team and apply process‑oriented quality practices to maintain product quality and regulatory compliance.

The role involves mentoring engineers, driving CAPA, and collaborating with R&D, operations and suppliers to reduce variability and improve efficiency. A strong background in ISO standards is essential and the position is based on site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years manufacturing experience in a QMS environment.
• 1+ year supervisory experience of 3+ staff.
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001 / ISO 13485 or similar regulated environments.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite and data analysis tools.
• Experience with Minitab or similar statistical software.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and mentor a Quality Engineering group and provide guidance to engineers and technicians.
• Lead investigations, data analysis, CAPA, and root cause analysis to improve processes.
• Coordinate quality engineering activities with cross‑functional teams and suppliers.
• Ensure compliance with specifications, measurement methods, and CTQ attributes.
• Develop protocols and reports for validation, risk management, DOE and PPAP.
• Drive change control processes and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Communicate with internal and external customers regarding quality issues.
