Job summary

Hirecruiting in Middlesex, NC is seeking a Lead Quality Engineer to drive product and process quality across value streams, products, customers, and suppliers. You will deploy requirements, tools, and advanced quality methodologies to prevent defects and support operational excellence.

The role leads problem-solving, quality planning, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement while guiding Quality Engineers and cross-functional teams through audits and corrective actions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, quality engineering, supplier quality, or related technical role.
• Experience in a regulated quality management system environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and customer requirements.
• Support audits, assessments, and corrective actions.
• Deploy APQP and support PPAP submissions.
• Maintain control plans, PFMEAs, inspection methods, and launch readiness.
• Improve process capability via SPC, mistake-proofing, and variation reduction.
• Investigate customer complaints, escapes, and returns.
• Lead containment and corrective actions (8D, 5 Whys, fishbone).
• Drive preventive actions and risk mitigation.
• Collaborate with supplier quality and supply chain teams.
• Serve as expert on quality systems and requirements.

**Lead Quality Engineer** **Middlesex, NC** **Pay:** The Lead Quality Engineer will serve as a technical leader responsible for driving product and process quality performance across assigned value streams, products, customers, and suppliers. The Lead Quality Engineer will deploy requirements, tools, and advanced quality methodologies to prevent defects, improve customer satisfaction, reduce cost of non-conformance, and support operational excellence. The Lead Quality Engineer will provide technical guidance to Quality Engineers and cross-functional teams while leading problem-solving, quality planning, risk mitigation, customer support, and continuous improvement initiatives. **Lead Quality Engineer Responsibilities** * Ensure compliance with applicable customer, regulatory, and industry standards, including AS9100, ISO 9001, customer-specific requirements, and internal procedures* Support audits, assessments, and corrective action activities* Deploy APQP methodologies and support PPAP submissions and approvals* Ensure adequate control plans, PFMEAs, inspection methods, validation activities, and launch readiness requirements are established and maintained* Support manufacturing process capability improvements through SPC, mistake-proofing, and variation reduction initiatives* Lead investigation of customer complaints, escapes, and returns* Drive containment, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive actions* Facilitate structured problem-solving activities utilizing 8D, 5 Whys, fishbone analysis, Pareto analysis, etc.* Partner with supplier quality and supply chain teams to improve supplier performance* Act as a subject matter expert for quality systems, tools, and customer requirements**Lead Quality Engineer Qualifications*** Bachelor's degree in Engineering* 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, quality engineering, supplier quality, or related technical role* Experience working within a regulated quality management system environment**Lead Quality Engineer Preferred Qualifications** * Experience within aerospace manufacturing* Experience with AS9100 and/or ISO 9001* APQP and PPAP deployment experience* Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher* ASQ-certified Quality Engineer (CQE)* Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor certification* Experience utilizing program management tools and advanced problem-solving methodologies
