Job summary

Intellias is seeking a Principal Desktop UI Software Engineer (Qt/QML) in Boston to lead the design and development of high-performance visualization interfaces for electrophysiology devices. You will own critical UI features, partnering with UI designers, clinical teams, and hardware engineers to deliver intuitive, robust software on Linux.

The role emphasizes real-time performance, high-quality code, and collaboration in a regulated medical environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of relevant experience, or Master's with 5+ years, or PhD with 3+ years.
• Extensive experience designing, developing and testing real-time visualization software.
• Strong desktop UI development experience with Qt/QML, PyQt, OpenGL, or similar.
• Experience with ROS or device-level communications is a plus.
• Experience with UI designers and translating conceptual UI into polished interfaces.
• Knowledge of software architecture, design patterns, and Git workflows.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with UI designers and clinicians to translate requirements into UI features.
• Develop and maintain high-quality, scalable code using Qt, Python, and QML on Linux.
• Coordinate with hardware, design, test, and reliability teams to define software requirements.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote a culture of quality and innovation.
• Apply best practices to keep code maintainable and robust.
• Participate in pre-clinical evaluations and stakeholder demos.
• Contribute to documentation and internal technical reviews.
