Job summary

DTCC is seeking a skilled SDET in Tampa, FL to design, develop, and maintain robust automated testing solutions. You will join a business-aligned squad focused on building and maintaining custom software supporting the business.

The ideal candidate has strong Java expertise, experience with Selenium/TestNG/JUnit, API and database testing, and a passion for modern testing practices to ensure high-quality software delivery. Hybrid work model with 3 days onsite and 2 remote.

Qualifications

• 6–8 years of automated unit and integration testing experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement test automation frameworks using Java and Selenium.
• Develop and maintain Java-based automation scripts for UI, API, and backend testing.
• Apply OOP principles and best practices in automation code.
• Implement Page Object Model for scalable test automation.
• Perform API testing with Rest Assured and DB validation with JDBC/JPA.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Bitbucket, CloudBees).
• Write and optimize SQL queries for data validation and backend testing.
• Drive TDD and BDD using Cucumber.
• Ensure comprehensive testing coverage (unit, integration, functional, regression, smoke).
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and continuous improvement of testing processes.

The Impact You Will Have In This Role

The SDET role specializes in development of capabilities and code to automate testing of the product or system under test. You will be part of a business-aligned development squad that specializes in building, enhancing and maintaining custom software and solutions supporting the business.

We are seeking a highly skilled SDET with strong Java programming expertise to design, develop, and maintain robust automated testing solutions. This role requires deep knowledge of Java, test automation frameworks, and modern testing practices to ensure high-quality software delivery.

Your Primary Responsibilities

• Design and implement test automation frameworks using Java and tools such as Selenium, TestNG, JUnit.
• Develop and maintain Java-based automation scripts for UI, API, and backend testing.
• Apply Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and best practices in automation code.
• Implement design patterns like Page Object Model (POM) for scalable test automation.
• Perform API testing using Rest Assured and database validation using JDBC/JPA.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Bitbucket, Cloudbees).
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries for data validation and backend testing.
• Drive Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) practices using Cucumber.
• Ensure comprehensive coverage through unit, integration, functional, regression, and smoke testing.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes.

Qualifications

• Proven min experience of 6-8 years with automated unit and integration testing.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Talents Needed For Success

• Strong proficiency in Java programming, including: - OOP principles (Inheritance, Polymorphism, Encapsulation)
• Collections Framework
• Exception Handling
• Streams and Lambda expressions
• Multithreading and Concurrency
• Hands-on experience with Java-based test automation frameworks (Selenium, TestNG, JUnit).
• Familiarity with build tools (Maven/Gradle) and dependency management.
• Experience with API testing (Rest Assured) and database testing (JDBC/JPA).
• Solid understanding of software testing methodologies and TDD/BDD.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases (Oracle, DB2, Snowflake).
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Bitbucket) and version control (Git).
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to cloud environments and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of performance testing tools (JMeter).
• Experience in Agile/DevOps environments.
