Qualifications

• Five+ years of Python development in enterprise environments; six+ preferred.
• Experience building and supporting large-scale production applications with high availability requirements.
• Understanding of SDLC from requirements to deployment and support.
• Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and computational efficiency; familiarity with AWS (optional).

Responsibilities

• Contribute to architecture and technical decisions balancing performance, security, and scalability.

About The Role

Bright Vision Technologies is seeking a Lead Python Engineer to design, build, and continuously improve enterprise-grade applications, data-intensive services, and automation platforms. This is a hands‑on engineering position for a technical leader who can deliver secure, reliable, and high‑performance Python systems in distributed, mission‑critical production environments.

You will work closely with product, data, and infrastructure teams to turn complex or evolving business needs into practical technical solutions. The ideal candidate brings strong Python development experience, sound software architecture and data engineering fundamentals, and a proactive approach to production support. You will investigate root causes, make informed design trade‑offs, and help strengthen engineering practices across the team.

Location: 100% remote within the United States

Employment type: Full‑time, direct W-2

Salary range: $75,000-$95,000 annually

Experience: 6+ years preferred

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• At least five years of applied Python development experience in enterprise environments; six or more years of professional experience is preferred.
• Demonstrated success developing and supporting large‑scale production applications with demanding availability and reliability requirements.
• Hands‑on experience with relational databases such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or Sybase, including schema design and query tuning.
• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, from requirements and system design through implementation, testing, release, and ongoing support.
• Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, computational efficiency, Agile methodologies, CI/CD, application resiliency, and secure coding practices.
• Experience debugging and maintaining complex enterprise applications in production, along with the ability to manage concurrent work and communicate clearly with technical and business stakeholders.
• Preferred: UNIX/Linux shell scripting; mathematical and statistical fundamentals; Python libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, Scikit‑Learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch; and exposure to AWS services including S3, RDS, DynamoDB, and Glue.
