OpenText is seeking a Lead Python Developer to propel data pipelines and optimize data intake within the SCA data science team in the United States. You will guide architectural decisions, mentor teammates, and deliver scalable, high-quality data solutions across distributed teams in Sweden and India.
With 8+ years in software development and 5+ years in Python, you will drive AI/ML innovation, ensure robust testing, and craft resilient data architectures.
Data Pipelines & Optimization: Proven ability to build, debug, and optimize complex pipelines processing huge volumes of diverse data.
Capable of pinpointing and resolving bottlenecks to ensure maximum performance with minimal resource consumptionAppSec & SCA: Basic knowledge of and a strong interest in Application Security (AppSec) and Software Composition Analysis (SCA)
Leadership: Experience acting as a lead developer, coaching junior team members, leading subprojects, and taking ownership of technical decisions
Database & Schema Design: Strong experience working with complex databases, including planning, evolving, and maintaining database schemas
Experience: 8+ years of experience in software development, with at least 5 years of Python expertise focused on data pipelines and quality
Software Architecture & Python: Expert-level developer with a strong focus on clean architecture, design patterns, and rigorous testing (unit, integration, etc.).
Proficient with Python's ecosystem, particularly ML and AI libraries
Education: A degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
Collaboration: Comfortable working in a distributed team and collaborating effectively across different time zones
AI & Prototyping: Ability to quickly build high-quality AI/LLM POCs and scale them into production while balancing business value against operational and API costs
DevOps & CI/CD: Hands-on experience with Kubernetes deployment/maintenance and automated CI/CD pipelines
Knowledge of diverse datastores like Elasticsearch and Neo4jExperience working with GCP or other major cloud platforms
