Job summary

Forrester Research, Inc. is seeking a Principal Analyst to lead research on public cloud platforms and related strategies for enterprise cloud adoption. You will work with technology executives to translate complex market shifts into clear guidance and actionable insights.

You will conduct primary research, analyze provider ecosystems, and develop frameworks that help clients make informed cloud decisions, governance, and modernization plans. Domestic travel may be required.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree or equivalent professional experience is required.
• 10+ years in senior practitioner, cloud architect, platform/infrastructure leader, or related roles.
• Deep knowledge of public cloud market and hyperscale platforms.
• Experience with cloud strategy, migration, modernization, and cloud operations.
• Strong communication, analysis, and executive-facing presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead Forrester's public cloud platform research across teams and functions.
• Develop deep understanding of what technology leaders require to succeed with public cloud.
• Conduct primary research via interviews, surveys, vendor briefings, and market analysis.
• Analyze major and emerging cloud providers and translate market developments to clients.
• Help clients navigate trade-offs on cost, performance, resilience, security, and data sovereignty.
• Create 8–12 high-quality research projects per year in various formats.
• Drive Forrester Wave and Landscape research in public cloud markets.
• Develop decision frameworks, maturity models, and governance guidance.
• Consult with clients through inquiry, guidance, and advisory engagements.
• Present at events and deliver client webinars and executive presentations.
• Build relationships with senior technology leaders and industry media.
• Support business development with account teams; foster cross-team collaboration.
