Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process: assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation to develop an individualized plan of care.
• Identifies risk levels and discharge planning; prescribes interventions to attain outcomes and evaluates effectiveness.
• Implements interventions to progress the patient toward wellness and maintains wellness.
• Administers medications safely; provides education on prescribed medications; recognizes adverse drug reactions.
• Maintains professionalism, accountability, and responsibility for nursing care decisions and knowledge base.
• Reviews and updates medical records; transcribes and implements physician orders per policy; documents care and progress.
• Communicates incomplete assignments and patient needs to staff to ensure continuity of care.
• Delegates duties and supports staff while advocating for patient safety.
• Uses nursing knowledge to meet needs of facility, patients, and staff; supports evidence-based practice.
• Float across clinical services and perform other duties as assigned.
