Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) in Terrell, TX is seeking a Nurse II to deliver direct patient care in a high‑acuity geriatric mental health setting at Terrell State Hospital. You will participate in assessments, planning, and coordination of care under supervision, ensuring 24‑hour continuity of nursing services and collaborating with Nurse Administrators and MH staff.

This role requires a Texas RN license, completion of an accredited Nursing program, and at least six months

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Nursing Program.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas.
• At least six months of nursing experience; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients as needed.
• Supervise and evaluate nursing staff and coordinate scheduling.
• Ensure 24-hour continuity of care in collaboration with nurse leadership.
• Participate in teaching patients about medications and care plans.
• Attend mandatory trainings and other assigned duties.
