Job summary

NextEra Energy Resources, LLC is seeking a seasoned professional to lead development projects for renewable assets. You will oversee cross-functional teams, drive origination and business development, and focus on projects in Oklahoma and Texas while based in Juno Beach, FL.

Expect ~50% travel to sites and regional markets. The role requires strong experience in project development, land acquisition, permitting, interconnection evaluations, and financial negotiations.

Qualifications

  • High School Grad/GED required.
  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience required.
  • Experience: 3+ years in development or related roles.

Responsibilities

  • Manages all aspects of the day-to-day transaction process.
  • Leads financial feasibility analyses, engineering/design, legal review, permitting and negotiations.
  • Coordinates due diligence with internal groups for proper analysis and structuring of projects.
  • Acts as liaison between internal and external specialists on procurement, permitting and interconnection.
  • Constructs contractual arrangements for project development.
  • Negotiates agreements with consultants and subcontractors.
  • Ensures compliance with technical and regulatory requirements.
  • Fosters external relationships with customers and community members.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Specific Description

In this role, you would directly impact our goal of aggressively growing renewable asset production. In this position, you will lead development projects from beginning to end, overseeing cross-functional teams across the NextEra Energy Resources organization. You will be working with leadership within Development to drive origination and business development efforts that will directly impact NextEra Energy’s bottom line. This role will focus on developing renewable projects located in Oklahoma and Texas.

Beyond the requirements below, you will also be responsible for presenting your projects and updates to Development leadership and providing your input and expertise daily to subject matter experts as a collaborative and dynamic team project leader. You will travel across our sites to gain expertise in the regional energy market, the project, and the local community. You will be able to dive into the process and progression of new and existing projects. We have the best team in the business and are looking for hardworking, detail-oriented, and intelligent leaders to join our team. This role will be based in Juno Beach, FL and will require the ability to travel ~50%.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience developing renewable asset business opportunities
  • Experience leading projects that require land acquisition, permitting, zoning, environmental studies, and interconnection evaluations
  • Experience with project valuations, commercial agreements, and tax abatements
  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams
  • Experience with implementing project management principles and process design
  • Experience & proficiency with corporate finance principles
  • Experience & proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Word
  • Comfortability in community engagement

Job Overview

Employees in this role develop and execute plans for new and enhanced generation projects. This job is responsible for resource allocation, schedules, cost and technical adequacy, ensuring the project or transaction is completed in the most cost effective and competitive manner. This position manages all aspects of the business deal and ensures the project is completed timely and within budgetary constraints.
