Job summary

The Middlesex Corporation, a leader in heavy civil construction, seeks a Project Engineer to lead multimillion-dollar highway and bridge projects from pre-construction through completion. You’ll guide field engineers, develop CPM schedules, and coordinate budgets, subcontractors, and owner relations.

Qualifications

• Four-year engineering or construction management degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience.
• Proficient computer knowledge including Microsoft Office, BlueBeam. Preferred experience utilizing HCSS HeavyJob, Vista, CAD, P6.
• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in heavy civil construction.
• Comprehensive understanding of civil construction industry practices and standards.
• Must be able to freely access all parts of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environments.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Comply with Safety policies and procedures and promote Safety first in everything we do.
• Provide leadership and management of high-performing project field engineers or other project staff.
• Develop and execute innovative means, methods, and construction strategies for safe, productive work.
• Develop activity work plans to safely and efficiently execute work.
• Participate in the development of project management plans and CPM schedules.
• Manage budgets, manpower, equipment, subcontractors, and material resource plans.
• Maintain communications with JV partners, owners/clients, subcontractors, designers, and stakeholders.
• Oversee project execution and P&L results and ensure adherence to core values.
• Assist in procurement and management of subcontractors, suppliers/vendors for timely delivery.
• Track and verify production data, cost reporting, revenue, and cash flow projections.
• Manage project engineering activities and submittal/ RFIs process.
• Implement QA/QC plans and ensure proper documentation.
