Job summary

Analogic Jobs US is seeking an experienced engineering technician leader to serve as the primary escalation resource for complex product failures. You will perform advanced troubleshooting, calibration, and validation of electro-mechanical power products, and coordinate repair priorities to meet customer commitments.

The role requires 8+ years in electronics manufacturing or repair, strong leadership, and proficiency with SAP and diagnostic tools.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Electronics, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing, or related field.
  • Minimum 8+ years of electronics manufacturing or repair operations experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of analog/digital electronics and electro-mechanical systems.
  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP for production/inventory tracking.
  • Ability to coordinate resources and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
  • Strong collaboration with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations teams.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools and troubleshooting complex system failures.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical escalation resource for complex product failures.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting, repair, calibration, testing, and validation of complex electro-mechanical Power products and assemblies.
  • Troubleshoot interactions between assemblies, subassemblies, firmware, software, and hardware.
  • Achieve daily repair output targets and production goals while maintaining quality and safety standards.
  • Monitor daily workflow and report production output, repair status, and schedule performance.
  • Coordinate repair priorities to ensure customer commitments and production schedules are met.
  • Determine labor assignments and shift resources as necessary to address workload fluctuations.
  • Validate repairs through testing, calibration, tuning, and final system verification.
  • Ensure SAP status fields accurately record location/status of RMA units.
  • Maintain advanced test equipment and calibration per requirements.
  • Maintain shop floor inventory and support inventory control initiatives.
  • Monitor sub-assemblies, modules, and PCBs for repairs.
  • Promote FIFO material and workflow practices whenever possible.
  • Provide daily direction and technical guidance to technicians.
  • Monitor attendance and staffing availability.
  • Support cross-training and training matrix documentation.
  • Coach and mentor technicians; conduct monthly evaluations.
  • Address performance and behavioral concerns with HR as needed.
  • Improve troubleshooting methods and repair procedures.
  • Collaborate with Production/Manufacturing/Quality/Product Support to resolve issues.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical & Team Leadership
  • Serve as the primary technical escalation resource for complex product failures, providing hands-on troubleshooting support when standard repair methods are unsuccessful.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting, repair, calibration, testing, and validation of complex electro-mechanical Power products and assemblies, including component-level diagnostics and system verification utilizing electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and other diagnostic techniques as applicable.
  • Troubleshoot interactions between assemblies, subassemblies, firmware, software, and hardware to identify and resolve system-level failures.
  • Achieve daily repair output targets and production goals while maintaining quality and safety standards.
  • Monitor daily workflow and report production output, repair status, and schedule performance.
  • Coordinate repair priorities to ensure customer commitments and production schedules are met.
  • Determine labor assignments and shift resources as necessary to address workload fluctuations and production requirements.
  • Validate repairs through comprehensive functional testing, calibration, tuning, and final system verification prior to release.
  • Ensure employees accurately utilize SAP user status fields to record the location and status of RMA units throughout the repair process.
  • Ensure advanced test equipment remains operational, properly maintained, and calibrated in accordance with company and industry requirements.
  • Maintain accurate shop floor inventory and support inventory control initiatives.
  • Monitor the availability and status of sub-assemblies, modules, and printed circuit boards required to complete repair builds.
  • Promote and enforce First-In, First-Out (FIFO) material and workflow practices whenever possible.
  • Provide daily direction, technical guidance, and support to technicians and repair personnel.
  • Monitor and report employee attendance and staffing availability.
  • Support employee cross-training initiatives and maintain training matrix documentation.
  • Coach, mentor, and provide advanced technical guidance to technicians while supporting skill development, troubleshooting capability, and cross-training initiatives.
  • Conduct monthly employee evaluations and performance discussions.
  • Address employee performance and behavioral concerns in a timely and professional manner while partnering with management and Human Resources as appropriate.
  • Develop, document, and improve troubleshooting methods, repair procedures, and technical work instructions for recurring or emerging product failures.
  • Partner with Production Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Product Support to resolve complex technical issues, improve repair methods, and enhance overall product reliability.
Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence
  • Lead and sustain 6S initiatives throughout the repair and production areas.
  • Identify, correct, and prevent workplace organization, housekeeping, and safety deficiencies.
  • Define, document, and maintain area standards for 6S compliance and workplace organization.
  • Deploy Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) activities and collaborate with team members to execute improvement projects.
  • Drive process standardization, efficiency improvements, waste reduction, and workflow optimization.
  • Prepare and submit reports related to continuous improvement activities and project outcomes.
  • Conduct and document Workplace Guidelines Checklists, 6S Audits, and Daily Leader Standard Work activities.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate degree in Electronics, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing, or relevant work experience.
  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in electronics manufacturing, repair operations, or related technical environments.
  • Advanced knowledge of analog and digital electronics, electro-mechanical systems, circuit analysis, power electronics, system integration, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair processes.
  • Working knowledge of SAP or equivalent ERP systems for production and inventory tracking.
  • Ability to coordinate resources, prioritize work, and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to work effectively with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Operations teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose and repair complex system-level failures where standard troubleshooting procedures may not exist.
  • Proficiency using oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, power analyzers, signal generators, and other advanced diagnostic equipment.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Expert ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation.
