Job summary

Mark43 is seeking a Lead Product Designer to own a critical product area, partnering with Product and Engineering to determine what problems to solve and how. You will shape experiences for law enforcement, firefighters, EMS professionals, and dispatchers, influencing across the portfolio including dispatch, records, analytics, and mobile apps.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional product design experience, including significant ownership and impact on shipped software products.
• Experience leading design for a substantial product area from discovery through shipped outcomes.
• Strong product judgment spanning customer needs, strategy, interaction, systems thinking, and execution.
• Qualitative and quantitative research to inform product decisions.
• Excellent interaction and visual design with a high bar for craftsmanship.
• Ability to communicate complex design decisions to customers, peers, and leadership.
• Experience in public safety or mission-critical software is a plus; familiarity with maps, native mobile and AI/ML products.

Responsibilities

• Set the design direction for a critical product area and define its evolving vision.
• Balance user needs with technical constraints and business priorities.
• Design across dispatch workstations, tablets, and mobile apps with ecosystem thinking.
• Contribute to design system and patterns; guide other designers.
• Present a product vision or design recommendation to senior leaders.
• Explore how AI and emerging technologies can improve public safety workflows.
• Collaborate with Engineering to refine interactions and edge cases.
• Own the quality and impact of the product beyond the design deliverable.
