Job summary

Salesforce is seeking a Lead Product Designer for Design Systems in San Francisco to evolve our AI-first design system across products. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistency, usability, accessibility, and delightful experiences across Salesforce applications.

You’ll lead the design system evolution, mentor junior designers, and advocate for accessibility while partnering with product managers, engineers, and UX researchers to validate decisions through user testing.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience as a Product Designer with focus on design systems and UX/UI design
• Portfolio demonstrating strong foundation in design systems, visual design, interaction design, and AI patterns/capabilities
• Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, or equivalent practical experience

Responsibilities

• Lead the creation and maintenance of next-gen design system, tools, and AI products across Salesforce
• Contribute knowledge to the design system readable by humans and machines
• Define and document design guidelines, best practices, and standards for cohesive experiences
• Evolve the visual language and ease of use of Salesforce UI/UX
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, writers, and engineers to integrate the design system into product development workflows
• Partner with UX researchers to validate design decisions through user testing
• Mentor and coach junior designers, fostering design excellence
• Advocate for accessibility and inclusivity within the design system

Lead Product Designer – Design Systems

As a Lead Product Designer on the Design Systems team at Salesforce, you will play a pivotal role in evolving our AI‑first design system across our suite of products. You will collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams including product managers, engineers, and other designers to ensure consistency, usability, accessibility, and delightful user experiences across Salesforce applications. You'll get to work on a world‑class team with some of the brightest minds in the industry and will have fun while doing it!

Responsibilities

• Lead the creation and maintenance of our next‑gen design system, tools, and AI products that scale across Salesforce
• Contribute quality knowledge to the design system that is readable by both humans and machines
• Define and document design guidelines, best practices, and standards to ensure cohesive experiences
• Evolve the visual language & ease of use of Salesforce UI/UX
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, writers, and engineers to integrate the design system into product development workflows
• Partner with UX researchers to validate design decisions through user testing and feedback loops
• Mentor and coach junior designers, fostering a culture of design excellence and collaboration
• Advocate for accessibility and inclusivity within the design system to ensure all users have a seamless experience
• Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in design systems

Experience / Skills required

• You're a systems designer who is knowledgeable in leveraging and training AI to create quality experiences
• You're equally comfortable in code and figma, you consider yourself more than just a designer, but also a design engineer
• You have expert visual design skills, and obsess over the details of any design
• Bachelor's degree in Design, Human‑Computer Interaction, or equivalent practical experience
• 7+ years of experience as a Product Designer, with a focus on design systems and UX/UI design
• A portfolio demonstrating a strong foundation in design systems, visual design, interaction design, and AI patterns/capabilities
