HRG is seeking a Lead Process Engineer for Water & Wastewater in King of Prussia, PA. You will serve as the lead technical resource, directing design work for water and wastewater systems for municipal and private clients.

Expect ownership of project design, modeling, calculations, and drawings, with mentorship and cross‑team collaboration. The ideal candidate has 10+ years of water/wastewater experience, PA licensure or reciprocity, strong communication skills, and a track record of leading

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline with environmental emphasis.
• PE license in PA or licensure via reciprocity within six months.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in water/wastewater design.
• Proven ability to lead project design teams.
• Experience with regulatory compliance (PADEP/EPA).
• Strong communication, planning and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with common software and project tools.

Responsibilities

• Execute and lead design of water and wastewater systems for private and municipal clients.
• Develop process models, calculations, and design of conveyance and treatment equipment.
• Evaluate water/wastewater quality, create conceptual designs and process drawings.
• Develop PFDs, material balances and P&ID drawings.
• Perform process calculations including dosing rates and clarifier operation.
• Prepare procurement specs, construction docs, and equipment layouts.
• Coordinate design with site teams and suppliers as required.
• Mentor staff and provide training development guidance.

Lead Process Engineer | Water & Wastewater

We are actively seeking a Lead Process Engineer | Water & Wastewater to join our team of dedicated professionals in ourKing of Prussia, PA office. The Lead Process Engineer | Water & Wastewater is an essential member of the organization; serving as the lead technical resource in water and wastewater design processes. Primary responsibilities and expectations of this role will include but is not limited to:

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute and lead the design process of water and wastewater treatment systems for both private and municipal clients


• Develop process models, biological and chemical calculations, and the design of advanced conveyance and treatment equipment


• Evaluate water and wastewater quality, develop conceptual designs, perform calculations, and create process design drawings


• Develop process flow diagrams, material balances, and piping and instrumentation diagrams


• Perform process calculations required for the proper operation of equipment, including chemical dosage rates; biological loading, clarifier operation, sludge generation, and wasting rates


• Prepare procurement specifications and construction documents, develop equipment layouts, verify code and standard compliance, complete quality checks, review drawings, perform bid evaluations, and select materials and equipment


• Coordinate engineering design with site and construction personnel and equipment suppliers as required


• Coordinate process engineering activities with project management and other project team members


• Provide guidance to supervisors on training and development plans for staff


• Mentor others in areas of expertise to ensure advancement of technical skills and abilities are achieved


• Develop and foster relationships with equipment sales representatives, treatment facility operators, regulators, and other industry insiders

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or Engineering Technology with an environmental emphasis


• Professional Engineering License in Pennsylvania or the ability to obtain licensure through reciprocity within six months of hire


• Minimum 10 years’ project experience involving the design of water and wastewater treatment systems and processes


• Proven experience to lead project design teams


• Expertise in computer modeling of water and wastewater processes, hydraulic design software, and PADEP and EPA regulations


• Must possess strong communication, planning and organizational skills


• Effective utilization of common business platforms such as Microsoft Office Suite, virtual meeting tools, project management systems, etc.


• Flexibility to travel to job sites, meetings, and other offices as necessary, which may include overnight stays (Valid US Driver’s License is required)


• Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
