Job summary

Pima County seeks a Probation Officer II in Tucson to lead training, mentor staff, and oversee probation duties across Court or Field Services. The role may transfer to Court or Field Services on short notice.

Safety-sensitive position with advanced defensive tactics requirements and certification expectations. The position requires a bachelor’s degree in a behavioral science field and three years of probation experience, with bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferably in behavioral science or related field.
• Three years of post-graduate probation experience or higher.
• Must pass background/reference checks and trainings.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor officers; coordinate training and orientation.
• Coordinate case assignments and support officers in the unit.
• Prepare presentence reports and provide recommendations.
• Develop training strategies and mentor officers during training.
