Job summary

Howard University’s Moorland-Spingarn Research Center seeks a Prints and Photograph Librarian to lead reference and research assistance for photograph collections. The role develops policies for acquisition, processing, preservation, and access, and prepares exhibits with engaged outreach to promote the collection.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, ensuring preservation and access, and contributing to public programming that highlights African American history and culture.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Library and Information Science.
• Two years' librarian experience with photographic collections.
• Strong knowledge of African American history and culture.

Responsibilities

• Provides reference and research assistance for photographs and graphic materials.
• Develops and implements policies for acquisition, processing, preservation, and access.
• Prepares exhibits and conducts outreach to promote the collection.
