Calibr-Skaggs Institute for Innovative Medicines, a division of Scripps Research, seeks a Principal Research Scientist in Protein Immunotherapy to translate protein therapies from ideation to first‑in‑human trials. The role focuses on multi‑specific antibodies to control immune pathways in cancer and inflammatory diseases.

The position requires leadership of a PhD‑level team, collaboration across groups, and hands‑on translational training in a collaborative open lab environment.

Qualifications

• Design and execute immune profiling and functional assays.
• Work with primary human/murine cells and tumor lines.
• Develop antibody-based therapeutics, including bi-specifics.
• Apply automation to high-throughput screening.
• Gene editing of human immune cells using CRISPR/TALEN and other endonucleases.
• Lead a team of PhD-trained scientists.
• Present findings during regular team meetings.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute project plans for immune profiling using flow cytometry.
• Process primary human and murine cells for assays.
• Design, develop, and characterize antibody-based therapeutics.
• Apply automation to support high-throughput antibody screening.
• Conduct gene editing using CRISPR, TALEN, and other endonuclease technologies.
• Effectively manage a team of PhD trained scientists.
• Prepare reports and present experimental findings during meetings.
