Oracle is seeking a Lead Principal Platform Software Engineer for OCI Networking in Santa Clara. You will architect and build highly scalable distributed systems powering routing, workload placement, and fleet lifecycle management, collaborating with OCI teams to shape cloud infrastructure.

You will mentor engineers, drive architectural decisions, and raise the bar for operational excellence while delivering production-grade services with strong CS fundamentals and CI/CD discipline.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in large-scale distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, networking software, or systems software.
• Strong computer science fundamentals: algorithms, data structures, concurrency, distributed systems, and software design.
• Experience with network routing protocols; implementation experience is highly desirable.
• Experience building and operating modern CI/CD pipelines, release automation, and deployment workflows for large-scale distributed systems.
• Experience designing, building, and operating highly available, production-grade distributed services at scale.
• Demonstrated technical leadership, including driving architecture, mentoring engineers, and leading cross-team technical initiatives.

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Networking is the foundation that enables customers to run mission-critical workloads at global cloud scale. We are rearchitecting OCI’s routing foundation from the ground up to support the next generation of networking services. This is a unique opportunity to influence the architecture of one of the world’s largest cloud networking platforms. Our team develops the core infrastructure that powers OCI Networking’s data plane, solving complex challenges in routing, workload placement, and fleet management at cloud scale. You will collaborate across OCI Networking and Infrastructure teams to shape the future of OCI Networking.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
