Job summary

Oracle CSS seeks a Senior Principal Forward Deployed Engineer to lead AI/data platform transformations for Oracle’s largest customers. You will architect, modernize, and operationalize enterprise-scale data platforms on the Oracle AI Data Platform, collaborating with CIOs and engineering leaders to accelerate AI adoption.

You will migrate workloads from Databricks, Snowflake, Azure, AWS, and on-prem systems while shaping reusable delivery patterns and driving data governance and observability.

Qualifications

• 10–12+ years designing and delivering enterprise data platforms.
• Proven forward deployed engineer / solution architect leadership.
• Expert knowledge of Oracle AI Data Platform or equivalent cloud data platforms.
• Extensive experience with Databricks, Snowflake, Apache Spark, Delta Lake, Azure, AWS.
• Strong DataOps, CI/CD, IaC, security, governance, metadata and observability.
• Outstanding executive communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

Oracle Customer Success Services (CSS) is seeking a Senior Principal Forward Deployed Engineer to lead the delivery of strategic AI and data transformation programs for Oracle's largest enterprise customers. This is a senior customer-facing engineering leadership role responsible for architecting, modernizing, and operationalizing enterprise-scale data platforms on the Oracle AI Data Platform.

You will work directly with CIOs, CDOs, CTOs, chief architects, and engineering leaders to accelerate AI adoption, modernize legacy data estates, and deliver production-ready analytics and Generative AI solutions. You will combine deep hands‑on engineering expertise with executive-level consulting, leading complex migrations from Databricks, Snowflake, Azure, AWS, and hybrid environments while defining reusable delivery patterns that shape Oracle CSS best practices.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and delivery of enterprise AI Data Platform transformations.
• Design and implement scalable data consolidation, integration, transformation, governance, and AI-ready architectures.
• Lead migrations from Databricks, Snowflake, Azure, AWS and on-premises platforms to Oracle AI Data Platform, including workload assessment, code refactoring, SPARK optimization, and modernization
• Serve as the executive technical advisor throughout customer engagements. Architect Lakehouse, Medallion Architecture, streaming, and real-time analytics solutions using OCI services.
• Provide expert‑level Apache Spark configuration, performance tuning, cluster sizing, partitioning, memory optimization, adaptive query execution, and troubleshooting.
• Build reusable migration accelerators, reference architectures, automation frameworks, and delivery methodologies.
• Drive AI/ML and Generative AI data preparation pipelines, feature engineering, vector‑ready datasets, and governed data products.
• Partner with Oracle Product Management and Engineering to influence product roadmap through field experience.
• Mentor senior engineers globally and establish engineering excellence across CSS.

Minimum Qualifications

• 10–12+ years designing and delivering enterprise data platforms.
• Proven experience as a Forward Deployed Engineer, Principal Solution Architect, Consulting Engineer, or Professional Services technical leader.
• Expert knowledge of Oracle AI Data Platform or equivalent modern cloud data platforms. Extensive experience with Databricks, Snowflake, Apache Spark, Delta Lake, Azure, AWS, Kafka, Python, SQL, Scala or Java.
• Deep expertise in SPARK architecture, configuration, optimization, tuning, distributed systems, and large-scale performance engineering.
• Demonstrated success migrating enterprise analytics platforms and refactoring Spark/ETL workloads from Databricks, Snowflake, Azure, and AWS.
• Strong understanding of DataOps, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, security, governance, metadata, lineage, and observability
• Outstanding executive communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• OCI Architect, Data Engineer, Data Scientist, or AI certifications.
• Experience with LLMs, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), vector databases, AI agents, and MLOps.
• Experience leading multi‑petabyte modernization programs and globally distributed delivery teams.
• Industry expertise in Financial Services, Healthcare, Public Sector, Telecommunications, Manufacturing, or Retail.

Leadership Expectations

• Own technical strategy for strategic customer programs.
• Influence Oracle product direction through customer advocacy.
• Establish reusable engineering standards and delivery frameworks.
• Recognized thought leader in cloud data engineering and AI platforms.
• Coach senior architects and engineers across Oracle CSS.
• Represent Oracle at executive briefings, architecture reviews, conferences, and customer innovation workshops.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $104,600 - $264,100 per year. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
