Job summary

ASMSU Early Learning Center is seeking a part-time lead teacher to oversee preschool curriculum planning and classroom implementation. You will supervise children, aides, and MSU students, while fostering parent involvement and maintaining a safe learning environment.

The role starts mid-October through Spring 2026 with potential extension. Requires a Bachelor’s in ECE or related field, MT Lead Teacher certification, and 3+ years experience in early childhood settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Human Development & Family Science, Child Development, or related field.
• Early Childhood Lead Teacher certified through Montana Childcare Licensing.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as an early childhood (birth – age 5) teacher.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement curriculum for preschool.
• Inspect classroom and outdoor environment daily for safety and sanitation; correct as needed.
• Supervise and care for children.
• Follow ASMSU Early Learning Center policies and procedures.
• Engage children in developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
• Develop positive relationships with families; conduct parent/teacher conferences.
• Use newsletters, email, and meetings to inform families of events and involve them.
• Help families access community resources.
• Provide guidance to teacher aides and MSU-Bozeman students.
• Participate in ongoing training to stay current with ECE licensing trends.
