Job summary

Child Development Schools in Virginia Beach is seeking a Lead Teacher to foster discovery, creativity, learning, and joy. You will guide children through hands-on activities and storytelling, shaping a warm, welcoming environment where curiosity, confidence, kindness, and growth thrive.

You will partner with families and collaborate with a teaching team to ensure safety, licensing compliance, and engaging learning experiences. Ongoing professional development is encouraged.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old and a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to pass a background check and complete 12 hours of childcare training within 30 days.
• Genuine care for children and commitment to safety and well-being.
• Strong communication with families and team-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver age-appropriate lessons and activities for the classroom.
• Keep the classroom safe, organized, and compliant with licensing and ratio requirements.
• Observe and document each child's development and share progress with families regularly.
• Build relationships with parents through daily communication and scheduled conferences.
• Complete required documentation including attendance, incident reports, and assessments.
