Job summary

Kids First Academy Preschool & Child Care in Bay Point is looking for a Lead Preschool Teacher to guide children aged 2 to 5 through structured activities and imaginative play, promoting early literacy, math concepts, and social skills.

The role requires ensuring daily care, safety and nutrition, circulating with parents, and collaborating with staff to plan lessons and assess development. Experience with early childhood education is essential.

Qualifications

• Requires at least 18 Early Childhood Education Units.

Responsibilities

• Provide a variety of materials and resources for children aged 2 to 5 to explore and learn.
• Attend to children's basic needs, including feeding, dressing, and hygiene.
• Teach basic skills such as color, shape, number and letter recognition, and social skills.
• Establish school readiness behaviors in the classroom and read books to groups.
• Lead circle time activities and organize indoor/outdoor play for development.
• Observe and evaluate children's performance and health, and discuss concerns with supervisors.
• Communicate with parents about progress and needs via app or in person.
• Prepare classroom materials, teach proper eating habits, and supervise meals and snacks.
• Ensure safety, adhere to policies, and collaborate with staff on lesson planning.
